What are the three stages of the trivium? 

The three stages of the trivium are grammar, dialectic, and rhetoric. 

What is Dialectic?

Dialectic is both the ‘art of argument’ and the ‘art of talking things through’. The dialectic stage trains us to think deeply, discern prudently, and articulate eloquently.

The canon of invention is the generating of ideas.

What are Aristotle’s Common Topics of Invention?

Aristotle’s Common Topics of Invention are definition, comparison, relationship, circumstance, and testimony.

What is the canon of Arrangement? 

The canon of Arrangement is the ordering of ideas. 

What is the canon of Elocution?

The canon of Elocution is the appropriate expression of ideas. 

What are the four cardinal virtues?

The four common virtues are Courage, Justice, Moderation and Wisdom

Which of the four cardinal virtues is most important?

Courage is the most important of the cardinal virtues because without courage, we are unable to truly display justice, moderation, or wisdom

Why do we study the ancient Greeks?

We study the ancient Greeks because they were the first society to ask deep and good questions about humanity. A few hundred years later, we received the answers to the questions that the Greeks asked, in the perfect man of Jesus Christ.
